This week's challenge at Heart 2 Heart is to create "Anything But a Card". You will have to go to their blog and see what others have come up with.
I have seen these adorable picnic baskets around and I really wanted to make one. So I did some web searching and found a template that you can buy from Paper Wishes. I really didn't want to wait for a template to arrive in the mail, so I did my best to re-create what I saw. I did make a few changes like adding two handles instead of one and I changed the shape of the lid to work with what I made. Anyway, here is my version of the Picnic Basket:
Both lids lift up so you can put a lot of goodies in here:
Here is another view that shows the buttons and elastic thread closure:
I used the Fanfare paper pack (X7138B), Fanfare Level 2 brad assortment for the red brads on the sides (Z1400), Blue and Red button assortments, Flurry chipboard for the yellow stars (Z1225), The sentiment "Life's a Picnic" is from Campin' Fever stamp set (D1353), and the star is from Wishing Star stamp set (D1333). The completed basket measures approx. 5" wide by 3 1/2" tall without handles and 2 3/4" deep. Check out paper wishes if you want the template. I don't think that I could post my version since I tried my best to copy what they had.
Have a crafty day!
