This week's challenge at Heart2Heart challenges blog is in honor of the upcoming Earth Day - Recycle! They would like you to show them ideas of things that you have recycled. Using CTMH products of course to make something wonderful.
I took this challenge very seriously and started by pulling items out of my Recycle "Curby" bin. I took a brown paper bag, an envelope with a clear window, and a mac n cheese box.
At first I had no idea what to do with these items, but there must be something.....I cut the mac n cheese box 6" tall and 3 1/2" wide, used a corner rounder on the edges, then folded the left hand side in like this.
Alright I thought, this might make a cute notebook. So then an hour and a half later.... this is what I ended up with. I covered the back and the front with the brown paper bag using Mod Podge. I used striped B&T for the spine. I used the clear window from the envelope on the front. I stamped the branch and the swirls right on the brown paper bag and then I used my Coluzzle tag cutter to cut the pretty B&T paper. I thought that it looked like a fancy window. I stamped the bird and then cut it out. Added a black mini-brad for the eye. Adhered that behind the window. Took three small white flowers that I sponged with smoothie ink and added pearls to the centers. Added those to the top along with a strip of Kraft Color-Ready border and a piece of Honey B&T paper. I even used some older computer paper that I've been saving from my working days that I cut to fit inside the book for pages. I used my crop-a-dial to punch holes through the book and the papers and used ribbon to tie through the holes.

CTMH stamp sets used: A1104 A Tweet for bird and branch, D1263 Blooming flourishes for flourish.
Paper is from X7136B Mayberry. Used Olive, Smoothie and Honey Inks.
Have fun digging in your recycle bin and be sure to add your creation to the H2H site!

Spring has Sprung - H2H Challenge
I know that it is actually the end of the week, but I really enjoyed making this card and I just have to share it with you. On the heart 2 heart challenges blog this week they are challenging you to make a project that depicts spring and the saying.."April Showers bring May Flowers". Here is my entry.
My inspiration came from Paper Crafts magazine "Card Creations Favorite Occasions, Vol.2" page 81.
The CTMH stamp sets I used are: C1350 Dainty Thoughts for the flowers, D1377 Around the Block for the cloud, D1415 Springtime for the raindrops, and D1333 Wishing Star for the sentiment "You Brighten My Day".
I used Pear Cardstock and White Daisy Cardstock. Black ink, Pear ink, and Sky ink. Also used Pear and sky markers. Assorted buttons and white embroidery thread. The Polka dot ribbon is from my stash. I used Liquid Glass on the raindrops. The white center piece and the cloud is raised using pop dots.
Thanks for looking and here in rainy Oregon we can always hope for sun!
