Heart 2 Heart Challenge #8

Here we are at another Monday already.  This weeks Heart 2 Heart Challenge is to create your own background paper using stamps.  Click Here  or on the Heart 2 Heart Icon to the right to see the beautiful projects that the Desgin Team has come up with.  Be sure to post your artwork too.

I used the Mojo Monday card design for this weeks challenge.  Here is the link to the Mojo Monday sketch.  I also used the colors from the Bella paper pack - Sweet Leaf, Crystal Blue, Buttercup, and Vineyard Berry.  I was trying to hold off on using this cute little hedgehog stamp until it is available, but it was just calling out to be on this card.  So sorry, but you will have to wait until July to get this cute little guy.  The background was stamped using the "One of a Kind" stamp set.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #7

Wow - how can it be Monday already?  At least we had great weather this weekend.  Our family even got out and played a little tennis for the first time in about 12 years or so.  We also did a little yard work too.  It feels so good to be outside and enjoying the weather.  Yeah, yeah I know this week we are suppose to go back to rain.  One could always hope though!

Anyway, I'm suppose to be letting you know what the weekly challenge is at Heart 2 Heart.  This week it is a color challenge.                            The colors are:
I had to think a little with this one.  I needed to start working on Father's Day cards, so I decided to use the upcoming June stamp of the month called "Wonderful Friend".  I also adapted the card sketch "Noteworthy" from the CTMH Wishes how to book into a standard card size 5 1/2" x 4 1/4".  I did a lot of distressing with desert sand ink on this one, and I'm very pleased with how it turned out.

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #6

Here is the Heart 2 Heart Challenge #6.  It is a Technique Challenge.  You can use any technique that you would like to.  If you need some help coming up with one go to google and type in Stamping Techniques.  Be sure to post your work, I would love to see what you come up with.  Go to the Heart 2 Heart blog by clicking on the icon to the right to see what everyone has come up with.  Here is mine.

I used Embossing as my technique.  I did two kinds of embossing on this card.  First - I used dry embossing for the bottom of the card.  Using my scoring blade on my paper trimmer I just scored every 1/2 inch on the diagonal.  Then I flipped it around and scored again every 1/2 inch on the diagonal to create this diamond pattern.  I then turned the cardstock over and used my sanding block and sanded until the white showed through enhancing the diamond pattern.  Second type of embossing is Heat Embossing.  On the little frog I heat embossed using white embossing powder on Bamboo cardstock.  Then I added some shading by sponging on some sweet leaf green around the image.  I also used the new irristables from CTMH that has embossing already on the chipboard cut outs.  All my supplies to make this card (except the white embossing powder) came from the Miracle Kit that is available from CTMH until the end of May.

Thanks for playing along.  I hope that everyone had a wonderful Mother's Day!

Heart 2 Heart Challenge #5

Here is the Heart 2 Heart Challenge for today.  It is an easy one, just create a Mother's Day card.  I created this on using the new Cherry-O paper pack and the Bowl of Cherries stamp set that comes with the WOTG special.  I also added the plaque from this month's Stamp of the Month - Cherish the Moment.
Okay, now it is your turn.  Don't forget to send me an email and show me what you have created.
